The Elusive Clubtail is aptly named, as it considered nearly uncatchable by net-wielding enthusiasts. It flys long swooping  forays far out over the open water, and when it does perch,it is high up in nearby trees. Numbers may be great, as indicated by the presence of many exuviae, but the adults are seldom seen. July 5 2014.

Lake Darner - I went to the Old Quarry Trail in Kanata for a while today . The darners were not landing but I did get a few photos of them in flight. September 17 2013.

While I was out trying to track down some dragonflies this morning this Autumn Meadowhawk landed on my camera. I wanted to get a photo but my Blackberry was in my van. So I walked out of the field I was in, across the road to my van. I unlocked the van and reached in for my Blackberry. I had to enter my password, turn on the camera, set it to close-up and take some photos of my little apprentice. All this time the dragonfly stayed put and when I was finished I had to gently coax it off the camera.  You just never know what you will find when you go dragonfly hunting. September 7 2011.   Taken with my Blackberry 9780
